Design and Optimization of the Antireflective Coating Properties of Silicon Solar Cells by Using Response Surface Methodology

The design and optimization of a nanostructured antireflective coatings for Si solar cells were performed by using response surface methodology (RSM). RSM was employed to investigate the effect on overall optical performance silicon coated with three different nanoparticle materials titanium dioxide, aluminum oxide, zinc oxide nanostructures. Central composite used reflectance process study main effects interactions between variables: nanomaterial type, radius nanoparticles, wavelength visible light. In this theoretical study, COMSOL Multiphysics utilized structures wave optics module. properties cell’s substrate types studied. results indicated that ZnO nanoparticles best coating candidate Si, as produced lowest reflection values among types. reveals optimum conditions reach minimum reflections cell established ~38 nm. On average, reached ~5.5% along spectral range, approximately zero in 550–600 nm range.
